I came to Miami in 1986 from Mexico, at twenty-two, with not much to my name and no clear plan beyond a willingness to work. Forty years later, I'm building Frontdesk AI Studio — and the story between those two points is everything I'm bringing to your business.

Miami at twenty-two.

I left Mexico as a young man. Miami was my first taste of America — heat, Spanish, English, everything happening at once. I worked the jobs I could find while I figured out what was next. Valet. Sales. Hospitality. Whatever paid. I wasn't building a career yet. I was building a foothold.

Most of my classmates were a decade younger.

I started at Miami Dade College at thirty. I transferred to Florida International University in 1997. I graduated with honors in 1999 with a degree in Management Information Systems. I was thirty-five years old at graduation, working full-time the whole way. I learned that age doesn't decide who finishes — discipline does.

IBM, the Y2K wave, and the lesson.

I caught the tail end of the dot-com boom and worked through Y2K at IBM. I was older than most of the engineers around me. I watched smart people make bad decisions because they thought the rules didn't apply. I learned that technology is the easy part. Operations is the hard part.

Twenty years watching front desks fail.

I spent the next two decades in luxury construction project management. High-end residential, custom builds, full-service general contracting. The work was real and I was good at it. But the part nobody talks about — the part I watched go wrong on every single job, at every single trade office, at every single client's business — was the front desk. Phones unanswered. Estimates lost. Subs un-dispatched. Money walking out the door because nobody picked up. Every project that struggled, struggled because someone wasn't there to take the call.

Home, by choice.

Last year I needed work I could do from home — work that let me stay close to family while still building something. I looked at every problem I'd seen for twenty years on construction sites, in dental offices, at law firms, at every business I'd ever stepped into. The front desk was the one that AI could finally solve. Not as a toy. Not as a chatbot. As real infrastructure. So I built Frontdesk AI Studio.
